Haven't had the chance to install yet. have been upgrading a few things. adding X and Y extensions which required a much larger enclosure. Upgrading from 10 watt to 20 watt as well. will update with pics in the future. Quit excited on the whole project.

I am just starting with laser engraving, and I wanted to engrave on various metals. I purchased this IR in order to be able to better engrave without heating the metal and distorting it. I am pleased so far and learning a lot about the capabilities and the material that I want to use.

I traced and "redrawed" a silver amulet with the IR laser on the B1, because the original engraving was very difficult to see.

Picture of my Favorite Dog whom has gone to the farm several years ago. This is a picture that has been filtered as color pencil or oil painting. Don't remember, on aluminum business cards. B1 laser 900mm/sec @90% @ 0.03mm per pass. Fantastic detail. 2h 23min. But to me...to KEWL!

The laser works great with the 20w touch screen. Customer service said that it should work with the 5w as well and has sent a replacement to make sure it does.

Very happy with the purchase. Its ideal to engrave on metals, black slates even on painted black stones. I still try to learn to engrave on black painted acrylic, if i succeed it will be even better. I thing is a must add on to my B1 20w laser.

The instructions were a bit economical in detail, especially with the wiring (print was tooooo small!). But it was ok. I did not realize that I would have to upgrade the firmware and when I looked into it, it was like travelling back to the 90s....convoluted and difficult to work out. And, because I use a Mac, not really Mac friendly. So I have yet to reflash the firmware. Also, I did not realize that the wiring harness change would make it difficult to switch back to my 10 watt laser head so that I could engrave wood.....wish it were not so and that the process would be a quick swap.....otherwise it was ok...still getting used to the IR and testing it....

Laser was fine but was not what I thought it was. I don't do metal and this is for metal only. I was misinformed on what the product could do. I returned it to Longer and they gave me a 100% refund. My only comment is that the refund took much longer than other vendors but I am satisfied with how it all turned out. They are good communicators. Happy customer here, would recommend Longer to anyone.

Almost plug and play. Great addition to my laser. One request I would make would be to add a mount bracket for the B1/Ray 5 laser and an adapter cable so we can swap lasers when we need easier.
