The Air Assist Kit for the 5W & 10W Longer Ray5 was essential to reduce scorching. It has an on/off thumbswitch on the extension cord and a simple to understand regulator valve on the air hose. It has tall rubber anti-vibration feet and is super simple to set up and run. There are two nozzles with tiny setscrews. The bigger one fit my Ray5 10W. I set the nozzle so the hose runs 45 degrees out the side behind the red acrylic laser guard, not out the back, which would interfere with placing the cylindrical focus distance tool. I used bigger zip-ties than those provided to not-quite-tight connect the flexible air hose to the laser head wire loom. You don't want to constrict the air hose with the zip ties. After watching numerous demonstrations of running the laser with and without the Air Assist running, it was a no brainer. I don't want to sand scorch marks away.

The air assist kit greatly improved the performance of my Longer Ray 5 10 watt laser with cleaner cuts and nearly eliminating any scorching. I am able to cut small, complex parts cleanly without any discoloration. It is easily to install and runs pretty quietly too. I highly recommend this upgrade.

Change litéralement la vie, les découpes sont maintenant plus net, les gravures sont vraiment top aussi. Le gain de temps est indiscutable, pas besoin de poncer après de la découpe ce qui facilite grandement la productivité. Merci LONGER
If you have a longer ray5 laser engraver and don't have the air assist kit I highly recommend on getting one the air assist is a must have it makes the engraving and cutting way nicer
Is a good pump, not so noisy, Just was not prepared to handle my Rat5 20W the pieces included was for the previous model, I need to adapt...

Before air assist I couldn’t cut well and it scorched like crazy. Since adding the air assist it’s clean crisp and quick. 10/10 get it if you want to cut things.
This is a sample of a cut in 2.00 mm walnut the top is without air assist the bottom is with air assist on No over burn with air on. I did add an inline rocker switch as the pump does not have a switch. Easy to set up 😀🛫

Pro: The air assist air pump works very well. I was able to make fewer passes to cut wood with less smoke stains. Con: The tip that screws into the laser head doesn’t tighten much with the included rubber o-ring. The tip barely screws in, and will move a little sideways with a light tap. Without the o-ring it tightens nicely, but the air hose barb is pointed towards the front of the protective eye shield. With the hose barb in the wrong direction, you can't hook the air hose up without the hose bending, and stopping the airflow.
This is a highly recommended accesories for laser engraving. Very easy installation and smooth working. When i use it my engraves and cuts are not so burned at the edges. Very amazing result! (And a big plus + for the Longer support! They are very kindly with the costumer - my order has arrived with a nozzle which does not fit perfectly. But they send me another one! Thank you!)
I installed the air assist on my longer 10W laser this weekend. You can definitely tell the difference - less burning on cut edges and it helps keep the laser lens clean. The video Instructions for assembling are very helpful. Am hoping to add the rotary unit soon. Best laser for the price in my opinion!

It was easy to attach this air assist to my Ray 5 5W engraver. I definitely see a big difference in my projects, I don't see anymore burn marks and the projects come out clean. The compressor is loud when operating, and it is recommended to put it under the work bench or out of ear shot. Overall, I am satisfied and it was worth the investment to get a greater outcome with my projects.
Got the longer with 5Watt laser. It should have been great. Got the air assist and it worked well but I could never get the engraver to work well. The homing was off and adding camera and limit switches did not make the difference. Gave up and sent it all back

Easy transaction with prompt delivery. Installation was relatively easy. I use it to engrave trophy plaques from acrylic flex sheets. Definitely gives a more detailed finish with much better results. Would definitely recommend the upgrade..

Works well. The pump is quiet and runs only slightly warm. I do wish it integrated with the laser controller so I could control the pump through Lightburn. Maybe could be done with a controlled power outlet. I'm happy with the hardware and the installation info.
